KIT Library | Royal Tropical Institute, Amsterdam | 2004
The starting point for the redesign of the library of the Royal Tropical Institute was to preserve the historic atmosphere while adding modern amenities. The cupboards along the wall have been left in the original style of 1926.

The lighting, custom designed furniture, chairs and upholstery are all new in matching, compatible colours. Domestic and foreign students, scholars and professionals can work here in a pleasant and quiet atmosphere (silent area). In addition to serving as a library, the room is also used for meetings and seminars.
