Models of beauty | Masterpieces in Plaster | National Museum of Antiquities, Leiden | 2008
The newly restored plaster casts from the 18th and 19th century of the finest sculptures of the Antiquity are on display in this exhibition. Travel impressions, photos and paintings of galleries and art academies show the role played by the sculptures throughout 400 years of science, art and cultural education. Due to the theatrical setting visitors can picture themselves walking through Ancient Rome.
