For this exhibition, residents of Dutch castles and country houses have put works of art and parts of their interior at the disposal of the museum. This made it possible to put together separate collection pieces into thematic 'environments'.
The visitor walks through various rooms such as a lounge, dining room, hunting room, ballroom or kitchen, and by doing so can experience the lifestyle and atmosphere of successive generations.
